Highlight of this past week: The Momentum Strategy produces 7 wins and no losses this week! Momentum Plays

In this Issue---
SplitMaster Basic System---
***********************************************
This is just a reminder that while waiting for the basic plays to recover, we can think about writing some calls when there is a short time to expiration date. I took one old one and wrote the call--it is showing a profit at this point and now the decision is whether to cover it or not. Option expiration day is next Friday, 12/19 for Dec. options.

Big Dipper System---

The same reminder for writing calls as explained above for the Basic plays.

Momentum Plays---
************************************************
We started a new format this week in this strategy. We wanted to produce more plays so we decided that we would start reporting, on the Real Time Momentum Action page, support and resistence points on the indexes. We then started posting when we thought a possible SPY option play is getting close and post what particular options (Call or Put) we are considering going into. Further, we started reporting various other action that happened during the day that may indicate a good day trade on a particular stock to go into. We were discussing upgrades and downgrades and other bits of news we see streaming past our news programs in real time. We also discussed bits of market information we hear throughout the day. From all this members can pick their plays - going in on some plays and passing on others.

The bottom line was, not only have members emailed us expressing that they like the new format, it also produced a lot of great plays. This week we had 7 wins and no losses and some of the wins produced sizable profits. See
Momentum Plays So if you are a Level III member and did not join in the excitement this week, be sure to do so this coming week.

For other reader who are not Level III, if you are interested, let us know and we'll give you a couple of days free peek at the action going on in the Momentum Strategy. Just email us with your request a staff@splitmaster.com

Three Indicators---
****************************
The W Indicator came thru with a nice win for us this past week. We are running at a win rate of 79% so far, and that is 34 wins out of 43 plays. This is the strategy that is a great value for a low subscription price.

The Economy, The Markets & Commentary---
*************************************************
We muddled thru another week, ending with an up day on Friday, but it has been up, down, up, down, during each day this week. There is a real mess in Washington where they are trying to decide if the Big 3 auto companies are to get any bailout. The House passed a proposal, but the Senate's session ended in failure on Thursday night. The market was poised to drop about 300 Dow points, but it traded less than that and ended the day with a gain. The market continues to hold pretty darn good, in spite of the news being almost totally negative. We have to keep in mind that the market looks down the road at least 6 months, so we won't know when the bottom has been reached until quite a while later.
By far, tho, we see that negative news ends up being negative at some point, but at the current time I don't think there is anyone that can give a reasonable explanation as to why the markets drop one day on negative news and go up another day on negative news. We still feel that there will be some compromise deal made without going into bankruptcy. Once the blustering is done by both sides (for the benefit of union members and Congressional voters) and that Is settled in whatever fashion, we can move on to the next crisis. It still makes me shake my head to think that one of the senators can come out and say that this a very complex matter, and say that they worked on it for 6 hours Thursday night. If anyone can make a decent proposal while negotiating for 6 hrs., I have yet to see one that works. The Tarp is considered not successful by most people. Funny thing, state legislatures take months to work out a budget, and union/management negotiations in large industries usually go on for months and months---but these guys can make a presentation in a few hours, and it covers many billions of dollars. What a joke. It just can't be done properly that fast. Of course, that is my humble opinion, but I'll stick to it until someone proves me wrong. We were right using the same reasoning for Tarp and we will believe the same thing will happen with the auto industry. Stay tuned...................

Today's Thought---

One-half of life is luck; the other half Is discipline--and that's the important half, for without
discipline you wouldn't know what to do with luck......Carl Zuckmayer, German dramatist (Think about that quote...)
